Absurdities are a great joy. I found this little gem, in my husband's handwriting, while going through our old file folder of receipts and appliance booklets.

It's usually a chore to go through old paperwork and shred all the ancient papers we no longer need. But this time, I found joy in discovering little bits of nostalgia. The lease from our first apartment. (Rent: $595. Let's just say there's been quite an increase.) Our first utility bill. ($32. I miss those days.) All these memories of first starting out, making it work, figuring out how to be "grown ups," drawing on toaster manuals. It makes me smile.
