Photoexhaustion
A highlight of Squam was getting to meet the lovely, adorable Andrea of Hula Seventy, whom I have followed in the blogosphere for a good long time. Such a sweetheart. I truly enjoyed getting the chance to spend an entire day dedicated to TtV photography. At the end of the day, my arms were aching, my feet stung, and I was exhausted to the core. A whole day spent chasing errant leaves across fields of clover and hunting down secret places in the woods can really wear a girl out. Worth it, though.

Question... Did you use a macro lens for these shots? I struggled a bit through class with a 50mm 1.8 lens... It worked ok for me, but I love these ttv photos... Your colors are lovely here.
Hi Caiti - Thanks! I used a 50mm f/1.8 as well, but I attached a macro lens kit. It was my cheap alternative to buying a fancy lens. Here's the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000J3L1T2/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
It really works like a charm, and shortens the focal length to something much more manageable.
If you have Photoshop, you can really pump up the color - my original shots were pretty dull. I used some color-boosting Actions on all my TTV shots, downloaded from The Pioneer Woman (AMAZING.): http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/2009/08/pioneer-woman-action-sets-1-and-2-updated/
Ohhh, thanks for sharing your techniques! And I HAVE those actions (they ARE super!), and I didn't even think about them for these photos. Silly me. Must experiment now. :)
